The group of Lou Barreau and Hugo Marroux at LIDYL CEA Paris-Saclay France is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work on experimental studies of attosecond photoionization delays in molecules using electron interferometry (RABBIT). The candidate will conduct time-resolved extreme UV photoelectron spectroscopy experiments at the femtosecond and attosecond timescales. The candidate will work in a collaboration between the groups of Hugo Marroux at CEA-Saclay and Lou Barreau at the Institut des Sciences Moléculaires d’Orsay (ISMO) laboratory (Université Paris-Saclay, France).

Facilities: Experiments will be conducted at both ATTOLab-Orme at CEA Paris-Saclay and at ISMO Université Paris-Saclay. Our team includes experts of attosecond spectroscopy (P. Salières, T. Ruchon) and gas-phase physical chemistry (L. Poisson). In addition, the candidate will benefit from established collaborations with local partners and theoretical support.

What we look for: The candidate must have a PhD degree (awarded less than 2 years ago) and expertise in experimental time-resolved spectroscopy. Solid skills among the following will be particularly appreciated: photoelectron spectroscopy, attoscience, nonlinear optics and ultrafast laser technology, spectroscopy with XUV/X-ray radiation. The candidate should demonstrate scientific creativity, leadership, and autonomy. The postdoctoral researcher will be given ample opportunity to gather expertise and exposure in order to prepare for the next step of their scientific career. They will be encouraged to lead projects, mentor students and participate in proposal writing.

The available position is fully funded for two years (24 months), starting no later than December 2022.

How to apply: Interested candidates should send a CV, a list of publications, a cover letter summarizing expertise and research interests, and at least two persons we can contact for recommendation letters.

Contacts: hugo.marroux@cea.fr and lou.barreau@universite-paris-saclay.fr

Questions prior to formal applications are welcomed as well.
