HOW TO APPLY FOR AN ITC CG

The applicants must :

  • Be engaged in an official research programme as a PhD student or postdoctoral fellow, with a primary affiliation in an institution located in an ITC participating in the Action.
  • Prove the acceptance of an oral/poster contribution for an internationnal event on a subject related with Attosecond Science, appear in the official programme, and acknowledge COST (see below),

In order to make the application procedure as smooth as possible, the applicants are asked to follow the steps given below :

  • Step 1 : the applicant connects to https://e-services.cost.eu/conferencegrant and creates a CG request, including information on the event and financial support needed. After encoding all neccessary fields the request can be saved (otherwise the information is lost). Applications should be submitted at least 45 days before the conference start date.
  • Step 2 : the applicant must upload the following supporting documents :
    • A short description of the level of involvement in AttoChem COST Action
    • Acceptance letter from the event organisers (with an oral/poster confirmation)
    • A copy of the poster or abstract submitted to the event

Once all the documents have been uploaded, the CG request can be sent, provided that the applicant has an updated e-cost profile (including CV) and meet the above mentioned restrictions.

After that, a notification is sent to the ITC-CG Manager, Prof. Agnes VIBÓK (vibok@phys.unideb.hu), who will coordinate the evaluation of the application by the Action Core Group (CG). If the request is approved, the ITC-CG Manager will record the pre-approval and the Grant Holder is notified. After checking the availability of funds, the official Grant Letter will be sent to the applicant, in which the latter one is informed about the approval of the request and the level of the financial grant given.

Please, note that the final grant does not necesarily need to cover all the expenses related to participating in a given conference, and the amount requested can be reduced depending on CG decision and budget availability. Preference will be given for oral contributions that can contribute to showcase Action aim and objectives in international events, either relevant in the field or intended to a broad scientific community seeking to broaden the Action impact.
