Event Details

The first AttoChem school will be intended to train young Action researchers on novel attosecond technologies for the study of electron dynamics in molecules. The school will be organized online over 4 days (9 am to 5.30 pm) from March 8th to 11th, 2021.

The topics covered will range from novel laser sources, to advanced experimental attosecond spectroscopy techniques, with the main purpose of providing PhD students and young researchers with the skills needed to tackle the Action challenges. Lectures on lasers, attosecond technologies and spectroscopy methods will be combined with round tables. It will also include 3 practical sessions (virtual labs) about these tentative topics: the hollow-core fibre technique, pump-probe signal analysis and photoelectron spectroscopy. The programme will allow early-stage researchers to learn the fundamentals of attosecond spectroscopy and acquire a basic know-how on experimental data analysis.
The main organiser of the activity is the WG1 Leader Dr. Caterina Vozzi who is also the coordinator of the ITN SMART-X. The organization committee will be composed by Dr. Lou Barreau (Université Paris-Saclay, France; WG1 and WG3 member), Dr. Rocio Borrego-Varillas (CNR-IFN, Italia; WG1 and WG3 member) and Dr. Andrea Trabattoni (DESY, Germany; WG1 and WG3 member), all of them action participants.

Possible invited speakers and their relevant expertise: The following Action participants will participate as trainers in the AttoChem school: Caterina Vozzi (WG1 Leader), Rocío Borrego (WG1 and WG3 member), Jens Biegert (WG1 and WG3 member), Pascal Salieres (WG1 and WG3 member), Matteo Lucchini (WG1 member), Yann Mairesse (WG1 member), Ruth Signorell (WG1member), Mattea Castrovilli (WG1 member). We are currently contacting other possible lecturer and inviting them to join the action, since their activity fits extremely well within WG1.
